Wet, windy and wild!

Wet, windy and wild best describes the weather experienced by the team in the Peak District today. The weather forecast predicted wind speeds gusting up to 50 to 65 mph with low cloud and drizzle!

We followed a route to Mill Hill in the full force of the wind and driving rain before dropping back down to William Clough for a little bit of respite, before heading back towards Hollingworth Clough and nearby Glossop in a shorter than usual circular walk.

Peak District Navigation Practice.

Today we ventured outdoors to practise winter navigation skills in the Peak District. The conditions were perfect for what we had planned!

Our route took us from Doctor's Gate Shooting cabin across the desolate Alport Moor in misty conditions, with visibility down to 30 metres, to reach our destination at Oyster Clough Cabin.
